There’s Adam, Eve and the infamous serpent, but what’s one other thing that comes to mind when we think of the Garden of Eden? For the many who revere this enchanting place, there’s the recently opened Eden’s Café to tempt you with an experience of the biblical garden through its most seductive element – flowers.
The fusion of edible flowers with its menu items is one amazing aspect of Eden’s Café Take for example the Lavender Rosemary Chicken ($16.90) that is made up of one whole chicken mixed with juicy seedless grapes and salad, wrapped in lavender-flavoured pastry. Cut the pastry open and you’ll find an absolutely gorgeous combination of tastes that will melt your heart like any lovely flower would. that never fails to grab customers’ attention. Every dish has a lavish floral concept behind it.
The marvelous concept lies behind the floral-based teas. Besides the basic classic teas ($6) like orange blossom and rosehip, there’s a large range of fusion teas ($9) that combine the goodness of various flowers in one splendid glass. If you’re in dire need of some peace, the Tranquility Tea, with its heavenly mix of mint and hibiscus, can provide just that. Desserts like the Hibiscus Cheese Filo and Rose Petal Brownies ($7 each) are immaculate choices for a delectable end to your floral dining experience.
Décor-wise, the café at Club Street surprises with its stream of zen-like furnishing and a display of dried flowers in glass bottles. With the café’s total capacity of only 22, patrons can experience the peace that one would associate with the heavenly garden.
Eden’s Café sees different crowds at various times of the day. While the working crowd frequents during the lunch hour, the evening sees mostly couples or clubbers looking for a meal before partying across the street.
Dining at Eden’s Café is an absolute joy with its endless array of intriguing elements. There’s no question that this is as close as it gets for anyone who’s interested in finding out how food at the beginning of time tastes like.
For a romantic dinner for 2 for less than $50, UrbanWire recommends the delicate Saffron Salmon Crème Pasta ($13.90) and the adventurous Honey Mustard Chicken ($14.90). Grab a glass each of the White or Red Wine Tea ($7.50) as well. For dessert a must-try is the Hibiscus Soft Cheesecake ($5.90) that you can share with your date.
