If you’ve rocked away on Guitar Hero II or III, you’d recognize the drum tracks laid down by Joel Taylor. You’re in for a double treat because Taylor will perform in Singapore on May 2 with Frank Gambale and bassist Stu Hamm.

Stu Hamm, has jammed with other music virtuosos such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson, while Gambale has produced 11 solo studio albums, 4 live albums and worked for 6 years in 5 albums with Chick Corea, who has 15 Grammy awards. Gambale himself has 2 Grammy nominations in the late 1980s.

Local guitar players have a rare opportunity to learn from the master of sweep picking who will be organizing a guitar workshop that same day.

According to Cyberfret.com, sweep picking is a technique that “allows you to play a flurry of notes at a speed that would be very difficult to match using just alternate picking.”

Frank, who is head of guitar department at the L.A Music Academy (LAMA, will give a thorough explanation of the technique of sweep picking.

If you want to be part of this music master class, all you have to do is answer a simple question here.
