The Gist:
The United States of America is under attack. And this time, it isn’t a religious zealot helming the assault, but rather, a disgruntled former employee of the Department of Homeland Security. With the country’s computer infrastructure rendered powerless by this cyber-attack, Senior Detective John McClane is once again called upon to save the country through the manner he knows best: Brawns, guns and bucket loads of sweat.

The Review:
Responding to a routine call to pick up an FBI suspect turned out to be anything but routine for Senior Detective John McClane. He ends up rescuing Matt Farrell from an assassination attempt by gun-totting professionals who end up blowing Matt’s apartment.

Concurrently, a plan to cripple America’s infrastructure gets underway as a team of renegade hackers, led by Thomas Gabriel –a former employee with the government – , launches an online assault on the transportation, utilities and communication networks, rendering them useless and thrusting the country into an apocalyptic disaster status.

The FBI is powerless, the police are swamped and the nation is in disarray. It is, once again, left to a much older, wry humored Senior Detective John McClane to take matters into his own hands. Teaming up with the brains of Matt Farrell, the duo’s pursuit of cyber-terrorist Gabriel will have viewers grabbing the edge of their seats for the whole length of the movie.

One cannot be faulted for forgetting the fact that Bruce Willis is in his early 50s as you watch the movie. His visage is as wrinkled, his gait slightly heavier but that raw ruggedness is still present as he goes about gunning down those nasty hit men out to assassinate a hapless hacker, Justin Long, embroiled in a ‘firesail’plan. Both men have an on-screen chemistry that is pleasing to the eyes and Maggi Q provides sufficient eye candy to this classic action movie. All the prerequisites of a great action movie are there; be it from the heart thumping gun battles, gut belching fist fights to even a scene involving a truck and a Harrier Jet, this movie is pure adrenaline.
