You can fight like Iron Man or compete against Captain America at Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

Are you able to lift Thor‘s mighty hammer Mjölnir? Can you measure up to Captain America’s superhuman strength? Are you as combat-ready as Iron Man?

You can find out all these and more at Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network), a traveling exhibition now running at Science Centre Singapore (SCS).

Featuring original costumes, props and sets from the Marvel cinematic universe, this narrative-driven exhibition invites visitors to take part in a simulated recruitment drive. They can then find out if they have what it takes to be a new Avengers recruit.

The exhibition also seeks to explain the origins of superheroes and the reasons behind their superpower through science, technology, mathematics and engineering. “This exhibition is so immersive, so interactive and very educational,” said Associate Professor Lim Tit Meng, Chief Executive of SCS, who’s known for his track record in inspiring interest in science through pop culture.

Spanning more than 2,000 sq m, the Singapore edition of Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N is the largest so far. The exhibition has previously traveled to New York, Las Vegas, Paris and Seoul, and is well-received particularly for its interactive stations.

Aspiring “recruits” can pit themselves against Captain America in an endurance test at the High Performance Test Lab. They can also fire repulsor beams in an Iron Man augmented reality game, or try lifting Thor’s mighty hammer at the Mjölnir Simulation station.

Blockbuster Marvel movies will also be screened at the S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Theatre.

Here are 3 highlights that you can look out for:

  1. High Performance Test Area

Compete against superhuman Captain America and try reaching his extreme level of fitness here. Go through a strength test, a cognitive reflex assessment and an endurance test and see where you stand.

  1. Dr Bruce Banner Bio-Lab

Ever wonder why Hulk turns green? Dr Bruce Banner Bio-Lab, one of the stations at the exhibition, provides a highly plausible answer to this question. And it might have to do with biliverdin – a substance that results in green bruises in our bodies. So, delve into Hulk’s mind and discover the neurological changes behind his transformation.

  1. Iron Man Advanced Engineering Bay

Hall of Fame?

More like a Hall of Amour.

At this station, get up close and gasp in awe at Iron Man’s collection of MK 1-7 Suits with their different designs, technologies and capabilities. Even more amazing is the legendary Hulkbuster, standing at over 3m tall.

You can also suit up and put your aiming and reflexes to the test in an augmented reality game.
