When I walked into Ark 11, I was immediately immersed in the sci-fi world as I walked through the spaceship tunnel and was greeted by an “AI” inspired robot. The ambience, including the laser lights and the spaceship-themed furnishings, made me feel like I’d been transported into another dimension. What caught my eye was the gigantic pumping heart display in the middle of the club and not forgetting the “AI” inspired robots at the bartending counter.
And what’s clubbing without a crowd? With the trendiest remixes blowing through the roof, the crowd – Gen Zs were dancing the night away. The remixes dropped by DJ Ling matched the vibe of the sci-fi-themed venue, with techno transitions and strong beats. All I can say is that the dance floor becomes a canvas for expression as themes unfold in mesmerising technicolour, transporting partygoers to realms uncharted.
We also spoke to the music director of Ark 11, Hiroshi Kondo, as he shared with us the inspiration behind this themed venue, which is based on Apollo 11, the American spaceflight that first landed humans on the moon (NASA). Kondo also brings up collaborating with event organisers such as Afterlife, which hosts themed parties at various clubs, such as their latest party called “ARCANE”, which was sci-fi themed. And how post-pandemic has resulted in the evolution of nightlife, bringing a new scene.
My conclusion? The future of nightlife is born anew with creative venues and event organisers such as Ark 11 and Afterlife.
