BTW [short for by the way], you know what they say about fashion being synonymous with Orchard Road?

Indeed, fashion takes center stage at Orchard Central with BTW*: Blueprint the Wardrobe, a collaboration between the mall and Blueprint 2014, one of the key events of Asia Fashion Exchange.

To be specific, BTW showcases a selection of pre-spring collections in store at Blueprint 2014 from upcoming designer labels all over the world such as Hong Kong, Brisbane, London and Tokyo.

Besides a platform for budding fashion designers to showcase their pieces, Blueprint also promotes sustainable fashion by introducing designers who incorporate subtle details in their work. We see designers using cable ties to form an earring and etching recycled materials on their designs.

Some labels to look out for are Roggykei from Japan, HyperGrand from Singapore and Nataliebcoleman from Ireland. Roggykei consists of Osaka-based designers who design revolutionary and unique outfits which have caught the eye of “Mother Monster” (otherwise known as Lady Gaga) herself.

Local watch designer label HyperGrand, known for integrating fresh and modernized strap designs into their classic watch styles, is already stocked in 13 countries 6 months after their launch. With only a handful of local watch brands in Singapore, no doubt Blueprint will help to boost HyperGrand’s reputation further in the international market.

Nataliebcoleman is amongst the 10 designers to show at Blueprint for the first time this year, with the support of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). Natalie is a regular at fashion weeks in Europe and New York, already capturing the attention of celebs like Mary J. Blige, Lily Cole and Rihanna, through her creation of contemporary, flirtatious looks, as well as paying attention to finish, fabric and detail.

Judging from the exciting collections seen here at BTW, the Blueprint Tradeshow and Emporium promise to be even bigger and better with more than 200 local and international womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and accessory brands.
