Academy Award®-winning actress Cate Blanchett will be a presenter at the 79th Academy Awards ceremony, telecast producer Laura Ziskin announced today.
2 years ago, at the 77th Academy Awards, Blanchett took home the Supporting Actress Oscar® for her performance as Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator. She received her 1st Oscar nomination in 1998 in the Leading Actress category for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth.
Blanchett appeared in this year’s Babel and The Good German and can currently be seen in Notes on a Scandal. Her other film credits include Veronica Guerin, Charlotte Gray, The Talented Mr. Ripley and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2006 will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®.
The Oscars® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), beginning with a half-hour red carpet arrivals segment, The Road to the Oscars.
