Wooden tables were planted throughout Zouk’s main dance floor on Oct 7, each of them upholding a piece of innovation from 20 personalities, all gifted in their own field of work. The chosen ones ranged from the designers from local fashion label OwnMuse to It-girl Holly G.

Prior to the event, the 20 of them were presented with a blank canvas in the manner of a pair of Dr. Marten’s 1461 boots. The outcome was akin to a dream sequence.

Such a poignant pair, this one, with the tombstone colouring and a 'chiselled' epitaph.
Laces that have tasselled ends and random zippers pop out from the news cuttings.
Since we’re always going to have a soft spot for Lego, why not have them on your feet?
These (referring to the 2 boots) look mighty meticulous, but it definitely paid off, lending the boot an edgy corset vibe.
A magpie's dream! Silver sequins at the sides and noses of this pair will make the girl in you squeal.
For the hardcore dancing queen. Afro not included.
The Esplanade has nothing on this masterpiece, made up of individually-pieced triangle mirrors.
Even guest DJ of the night, Shinichi Osawa, got a pair to design!
Too. Adorable.
This one was easy to pick out from the rest of the boots, with its gleaming white wash and graffiti.

The boots were available for auction on e-bay up till Oct 14. Sorry if you missed the waging war with other equally passionate boot connoisseurs for the sassy kicks!

All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that grants needy and sick children the opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do.
