Stay tuned to The UrbanWire for updates on Singapore’s largest clean-up event.
The UrbanWire will be doing a live coverage of Home Sweep Home, where 1000 participants will clean 120 homes and pick up litter across 3 neighborhoods: Chai Chee, Toa Payoh and Redhill.
Organized by Habitat for Humanity Singapore, the inaugural event aims to improve the living conditions and environment for the vulnerable elderly.
Since its creation in 2004, Habitat for Humanity Singapore has involved more than 8000 volunteers in helping provide cleaner and safer homes for over 1000 families. They have also built more than 1000 homes for families across Asia-Pacific.
Besides the participants, Home Sweep Home will also see Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister for Social and Family Development, in attendance as Guest-of-Honor. VIPs including Mr S. Dhanabalan, former Cabinet Minister, and Mr Yong Teck Meng, National Director of Habitat Singapore, will also be participating in the clean-up.
After the clean-up, carnivals will be held at each of the neighborhood to commemorate the event.
