They showcased their best at Fashion Bar at The Cannery; those head turners for the next few months. They had smooth curves, and were decked in cool, sleek black and sliver. And no, it wasn’t the latest Fall fashion trends that caused sparkles in our eyes on Sep 6, but games and accessories from Microsoft.
UrbanWire was invited to sneak a peek at Microsoft’s latest additions and we liked what we saw.
For starters, hardcore gamers out there are definitely teetering on their toes to get their hands on the final chapter of action-packed First Person Shooter game, Halo 3. This said, pre-orders for the game has soared over a million worldwide and is expected to do better after its official launch at Suntec City on Sep 25 and its looking to be a major event, with partners such as Samsung and Tagger joining in the festivities that will last from 12 to 8 pm. Be sure to take a look at the large outdoor display at Suntec City that day, as you may not find your usual ads but some shooting and killing onscreen.
Halo 3 addicts would be happy to know that Microsoft will be giving out Halo 3 Legendary Edition boxed sets on that day. These limited edition game packs will include a Halo Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI Helmet; which will not be available in Singapore.
Other game releases are also expected in these coming months. Titles include Bioshock, Project Gotham Racing 4 and Viva Piñata: Party Animals. Bioshock has currently taken the gaming community by storm, scoring perfect 10s in numerous reviews. UrbanWire was given the opportunity to experience the games firsthand and we are giving our nod of approval.
It’s a cause for double celebration for Microsoft with its hardware’s 25th anniversary and the official release of Halo 3. A slew of new gadgets are out and ready to take on the world. Microsoft’s design philosophy of ergonomics and ease of use is clearly reflected in its line of keyboards, mice and web cameras. One new item to keep your eyes peeled for is the Sidewinder mouse, a revival of its hardware product line that specialised in true-to-life gaming peripherals like steering wheels back in 1995. This mighty mouse even boasts a LCD and customisation abilities, together with increased pointer sensitivity for a seamless gaming experience.
