Mogwai is back!
Fans of the Scottish post-rock band should rejoice because quintet is set perform once again at the Esplanade on Jan 23.
This is the second time that the band is performing here and who could forget how they brought the house down the last time they were here in 2006.
Their visit here later this month is part of their Asian leg tour to support their sixth studio release, “The Hawk Is Howling”. Unlike the previous few albums, “The Hawk Is Howling” sees the band revisiting its roots to produce a completely instrumental album.
Nothing short of spectacular, the album features complex and intricate soundscapes that teases the senses and evokes one’s emotions through the interplay of loud and soft moments. It leaves little wonder why Mogwai is often referred to as the “godfather of post-rock”.
