Love shooting with your film cameras?
Well, it pays to understand that not all 35mm films are created equal.
“No one film is the same as each film has its own elements that make them the way they are,” said Jermine Chua, 20, a film photographer who’s done celebrity shoots for the likes of Sam Rui.
An avid fan of film photography, Jermine has shot with Portra 400, Kodak Colour Plus and ILFORD B&W over the past year. These 35mm films cost an average of $15 to $20.
For those who are more cost-conscious, there’re more affordable options such as the Agfa Vista 400 ($6), Fujifilm Superia 200 ($5) and Kodak Gold 200 ($5).
But which is the best option when it comes to shooting portraits, objects and scenery? Jermine takes her pick in this video.
