Peach Schnapps, Rasberry Daiquiri, Lychee Martini, these are names that you wouldn’t find out of place at a bar.

However, when those flavours are captured and cast into ice creams instead, it’s a whole new experience.

Seventh Heaven is a café at Resort World Sentosa that provides us with artisanal ice-creams and their speciality is alcoholic creations.

UrbanWire sampled 3 of their various flavours: Blackforest, Dark Cherry and Merlot and Milo Dinosaur.

No, the last flavour isn’t alcoholic, but it doesn’t take away from your enjoyment of the dessert, especially if you’re a fan of the drink. With a sprinkle of Milo powder on top, the ice cream is smooth and hits just the right level of Milo saturation.

Blackforest is chocolate with blackberries and rum. The rum is the first flavour to hit your palette, playing a great partner to the bitter chocolate. However, the blackberries can’t be registered, other than in little bits that get stuck in between your teeth. Nevertheless, this was UrbanWire’s favourite flavour.

Dark Cherry and Merlot is creamy, with a tartness that helps the dessert strike a nice balance. The wine makes its presence known with a mild bitterness and a heat that grows at the back of your throat. It’s comforting, making it easy for you to heap scoop after scoop into your mouth.

Given the multitude of flavours that’s available, it’s no surprise if you can’t make up your mind. However, Seventh Heaven has already anticipated that and offers a Sample Menu I ($10.90) that is a selection of 3 flavours of their choosing.

However, if you prefer your freedom of choice, there’s the Sample Menu II ($13.90), where you choose the 3 flavours instead.

For those who really love ice cream, or simply can’t back down from a challenge, there’s The Holy Grail, in which you have to finish 30 scoops of ice cream in 25 minutes. If you fail, you have to pay $68, only one man has achieved this thus far.
