Now that you’ve gathered all the necessary documents, here are more tips that you may find useful. 

First off, if you’re applying for aptitude-based admissions, scholarships or competitive courses like medicine in NUS, you’ll need to get a letter of recommendation from your teachers. Ideally, you should get help from a teacher who knows you well, and be sure to notify them in advance to give them enough time to work on the letter.

Certain schools such as Yale-NUS College require personal essays as well, so remember to set aside time to write a few drafts and ask for feedback before submission. 

Also, for scholarship applications and aptitude-based admissions, there’s usually an interview on site or over video calls. So do get ready to shine! It helps if you can start by doing thorough research on the university and the programme you’re applying for. Remember to think of memorable anecdotes that can help the panellists remember your strengths and talents too.

For final-year polytechnic students, do have your transcript ready for the application. It should reflect the grades for all your modules and your GPA. You also have to submit your diploma certificate once you have officially graduated. 

Finally, make sure to double-check the application window for your desired school. Don’t miss the deadline!
