Merry Christmas

Singapore, in its diverse cultural context, is a huge melting pot of different races living in harmony with each other. As the year comes to a close and we approach Christmas, we’re reminded of a similar type of love – the love of Jesus Christ; the love we’re called to share with one another.

This joyous occasion is also a time of treats, laughter and friendship, and who better to share this with than some of Singapore’s top entertainers?

A Crazy ChristmasStarting Nov 28, Singaporeans will get a chance to enjoy the company of local stars, such as Selena Tan, Pam Oei, Emma Yong, Tan Kheng Hua, Denise Tan, Sebastian Tan, Hossan Leong, Robin Goh, Lim Yu Beng, John Lee and Lim Kay Siu all on one stage for a night of true Christmas spirit! Oh, call this a remarkable Christmas, call this an unbelievable Christmas; but ultimately, what Dream Academy Playhouse has created for the year 2007, is A Crazy Christmas.

With a line-up that reads like the who’s who in the theatre scene, this live concert will no doubt be a memorable way to end your year with an exhilarating bang. So star-studded a cast, one would probably need sunglasses in order to decipher where the limelight is placed. As Pam Oei puts it, “[Here’s] some of Singapore’s wackiest theatre personalities get[ting] together for a feel-good year-end concert with plenty of laughs.”

This crazy Christmas is not about solemn carols and hymns. Rather, it’ll be a groundbreaking fusion of Jazz, Rock, Broadway, Pop and Folk with classic holiday tunes, short acts or plays and thrilling sing-along sessions. Be prepared for the melodies of both the old and the present, sung to an accompaniment of a 4-piece band. As the 11 performers harmonise (with nearly the precision of the Vienna Boys) in the multiple genres of music this production presents, here’s a sheer guarantee of an enthralling experience for every member of the family.

For all the naughty ones this year, use this as your redeeming opportunity! Take your friends to this concert, or make an effort to buy tickets for your grandparents. Don’t even hesitate to trade Christmas gifts before curtain’s up! In Tan Kheng Hua’s opinion, “Music, Christmas, Friends, Laughter and Love just go together – and [what’s more], A Crazy Christmas has them all.”

A Crazy Christmas will be staged at the Drama Centre Theatre from Nov 28 to Dec 9.
