Galentine’s Day falls on Feb 13. It’s just one day before Valentine’s Day, and is a day where women celebrate friendships with their girlfriends. Contrary to popular belief, it is a misconception that only single ladies celebrate Galentine’s Day. Whether you’re single or not, you can still honour your female friendships on this special day. If you’re looking for some Galentine’s Date ideas, here are some you can consider!
Museum Hopping: The National Museum of Singapore
Thinking of somewhere to visit without breaking your wallet? Museum hopping is an ideal date idea! There are a variety of museums to visit in Singapore, such as The National Museum of Singapore, the ArtScience Museum, and the Singapore Art Museum. My girlfriend and I visited The National Museum of Singapore as there were exhibitions that we wanted to explore.
Cafe Hopping: Cafe Margaret
Cafes are great spots for a nice catch-up session with your girls. We settled on Cafe Margaret at Bali Lane as its cosy ambience and enticing sweet treats caught our eye. They have a wide selection of desserts and drinks, with Cube Pie being their best seller! If you have a sweet tooth like us, you can try their Matcha Latte and Nutella Cube Pie. Since both of us are cat lovers, we also visited SGCatHouse, a cat cafe near Paya Lebar. We definitely had a great time winding down and catching up with some furry companions.
Photo Booth: Solace Studios
Of course we had to capture memories on this special day! We went to Solace Studios at Haji Lane and had our first photo booth experience together. As compared to just using your phone, it is a totally different experience – one that you have to try with your girlfriend!
Retail Therapy: Peninsula Plaza & Peninsula Shopping Centre
We also explored places that we have been wanting to visit. We headed down to Peninsula Plaza and Peninsula Shopping Centre on a hunt for thrifted fashion and digital cameras.
Handmade Gifts
To honour our friendship on this special day, we gifted each other handmade cookies and wrote handwritten letters. Handmade gifts are a great way of showing love and appreciation to those we treasure.
Galentine’s Day can be as meaningful and special as Valentine’s Day. It can serve as a reminder and be a day where you can cherish your friendships with the girls who make up your support system!
