About Daybreakers

From the writers, producers and directors of Undead, the zombie hor-medy released in 2003, now comes the futuristic sci-fi thriller about vampires. Directed by Michael & Peter Spierig, Daybreakers is set in 2019, a future not too far to envisage.

In the movie, the world is dominated by vampires after a bizarre epidemic strikes the earth. Now, humans are looked upon as second-class species who are on the verge of being wiped out as they’re hunted down and farmed to fulfil the consumption of the bloodsuckers.

While the dominant population pushes the human race to a state of endangerment, a vampire researcher, Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) endeavours to “perfect a blood substitute that might sustain vampires and spare the few remaining humans”. Just when the fate of mortal beings seem bleak, Edward meets Audrey Bennett (Claudia Karvan), a human survivor who leads him to a shocking medical discovery that both men and vampires will kill for.

Edward must clash with his own kind in a deadly conflict with his own kind that’ll determine the destiny of human beings.
