Charlene NgFollowing the Midori SMACK THAT! beach volleyball competition in the day, Wave House Sentosa was where the thumping bass and bikini-clad girls turned into the sexiest beach party of the year on Jul 2. Who wants a night out at clubs that are a dime a dozen, when you can party by the beach under the stars?
It may be summer 365 days here in Singapore, but Skin Deep Volume One is the the only summer beach party of 2011. The inaugural event organized by Elevate and sponsored by Midori saw a turnout of more than 1,300 people, not to mention a sold-out party just by pre-sale tickets.
The doors opened at 5pm, welcoming the early birds with free Midori summer cocktails and cocktail shakers worth $20, and then there was the free flow of summer illusion shots. Mixed with Russian Standard Vodka, Midori liqueur, Triple Sec and a dash of pineapple and lime juice, it was the perfect summer shooter. However, to the disappointment of the party-goers, the free flow shots ended at 7.30pm, way before the promised 8pm, leaving many sober and dissatisfied.
Together with the sexy leggy FHM beauties, MC Monkey King Taisuke Yamamoto kept the crowd entertained with artillery apt for beach parties (alcohol pumped waterguns and shots) throughout the night. Decked in yellow tubes and hot shorts, the hot FHM girls rocked their bodies along with the music on stage while the testosterone levels in the crowd soared.
To earn its title of being the sexiest summer beach party this year, Las Vegas’ sexiest DJ Mika Gold was flown in for the night. After attending college at Florida State University, she attended Scratch DJ Academy (LA) in 2006 and has since risen to become one of the top DJs in the Las Vegas Scene. The crowd hollered impatiently while the petite blonde set up her equipment, and roared when the familiar beats blasted through the speakers, electrifying the dance floor. It was a breezy night but the temperature rose to a feverish pitch as the beach hunks and babes donning board shorts and bikinis gyrated their hips to the music.
DJ Twoface, fashionistas Linda and Grace, came back on after Mika Gold, keeping the crowd alive and spinning all the way till 2.30am. True to their reputation for being eye candies, the pair was dressed in bright colours for the party, as fashionable as always. However, despite its catchy beats, their set seemed dull in comparison when played after the 2 internationally renowned powerhouse DJs.
With the bar closing around 2am, the party came to an early end at 2.30am instead of the initially stated 3am, again leaving many youths who haven’t had enough, disappointed.
Wave House Sentosa is the place you want to head to if you’re looking for some hot action by the beach, with all night parties held on Fridays and Saturdays until 3am. With lots of eligible bikini babes and muscular guys (both local and foreign), get ready to get high and sweaty by the sea.
