Pearly Tan is a budding macrame crafter who opened Knot A Knotty Pea in 2019 as a creative outlet while she explored some options for a full-time job. Although earning a few extra bucks may have been her main goal, she has morphed her passions into an avenue of change by donating a portion of her earnings to Food Bank SG.
Her store currently specialises in macrame, a knotting technique that is often seen in friendship bracelets. Though her business was initially popularised by earrings, she is now expanding to other accessories such as rings and bags.
The products from Knot A Knotty Pea are unique as they are not made from mainstream materials like metals and clay. They are all one-of-a-kind, handmade, and created using waxed cotton strings or rattail satin cord.
