“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” ― Maya Angelou The problem for Amirah is her passions, for teaching, reading, writing, languages (she’s trilingual), history and wars, run in so many different directions. So while she can’t tell you what she’ll be doing in 10 years’ time, she’s certain she’ll absolutely love it. Her hobbies include crying her eyes out reading sappy novels (with The Fault In Our Stars by John Green being her current favourite) and pretending to be a member of the Criminal Minds team, solving murders. “What case are you working on today?” is her dad’s question every time he sees her immersing herself in episodes of the crime show. Oh, and she’s been secretly a fan of Korean dramas and music since she was 10. Known for being extremely naive and clumsy, she hopes to set her foot on all the historical landmarks, and museums around the world, and also visit hermit kingdoms. Her first stop? North Korea.
