The Producers Guild of America is a trade organisation representing producers for film, television and new media. It’s closely associated with 2 other guilds in America – the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America, which also hands out their respective accolades in the first few months of the year before the Oscars – motion picture’s highest honour.

The Producers Guild Awards is considered a strong guide to the nominations list for the Academy Awards. 80% of past films nominees for the Theatrical Motion Picture award have gone on to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.
