2-time Academy Award®-winning actor Tom Hanks will present an Oscar® at the 79th Academy Awards, show producer Laura Ziskin announced today.

Hanks, who is a governor and officer of the Academy, won consecutive Actor in a Leading Role Oscars® in 1993 and 1994 for his performances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump. He also has been nominated for his leading roles in Big, Saving Private Ryan and Cast Away.

Hanks will be seen next in Charlie Wilson’s War. His other film credits include The Da Vinci Code, The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can, Road to Perdition, Apollo 13 and A League of Their Own.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2006 will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®.

The Oscars will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), beginning with a half-hour red carpet arrivals segment, The Road to the Oscars.
